Jacky's Biography

Jacky Cheung is incontestably one of the most famous and successful recording artist in Cantonese pop's history. A quiet and humble family man, Jacky Cheung become the king of Chinese love songs with his rich, powerful voice and captivating melodies. Dubbed one of the 4 Heavenly Kings, Jacky has the largest collection of love ballad hits that can rival Alan Tam and Danny Chan. He was discovered by Polygram Records (now Universal Music Group), who offered him a contract after he participated and won a singing contest in 1984. Thrilled by this prospect, Jacky wanted to get started, but he had a difficult time grabbing his audience's interest then dominated by Leslie Cheung, Alan Tam, Anita Mui and Danny Chan. Finally in 1991, "Love You A Little More Each Day" emerged, and his career took a massive upturn, propelling him to superstar status. Among his most famous songs are "Only Thinking of Going Through Life With You" and the everlasting "Goodbye Kiss" which was also one of the best-selling albums of all time, achieving more sales in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia such as not attained before, with an astounding 3 million copies sold in 1993 alone. His cheery personality and enchanting smile caught Asia fans felling head over heels with him. Audiences love his carefree style and the positivity in his songs.
