Welcome to Jen Valjean's online home of Les Miserables fan fiction and other silliness. This website is updated quite frequently. While my stories are essentially stand-alones, they do go in order and reference each other. Generally, all of the action takes place in 1829 in Paris. My fanfiction is fairly lighthearted, but sometimes they take on a more serious tone, as in "Jean Prouvaire's Birthday," or "Marius Enters the Shadow." Although Jean Valjean is my favourite character in Les Mis, I find the barricade boys generally more fun to write about. I love Grantaire and Marius especially. However, Jean Valjean will make a few guest appearences.
Updated! Two new stories, "Admiration," and "Bossuet and the Dog" are up! Please read them! Also, chapter seven of the group fanfiction, "A Matter of Age," by AmZ, is up. I am also in the process of re-formatting all of the stories already posted here to make them easier to read.

Jen's Cast of Characters Here is a list and a brief description of people you can expect to read about on this website. Everyone has his or her own interpretation of the characters, and I think that knowing mine is helpful when reading my fanfiction.
"The Taming of Grantaire" by Jen Valjean. A fanfic involving a plot on Javert's part, Marius disguised as Enjolras, and lots of yelling. Based on the introduction to "The Taming of the Shrew." This is my personal favourite out of all of my stories.
"Marius Needs a Woman" by Jen Valjean. Courfeyrac means well. Maybe.
"My Fair Grantaire" by Jen Valjean. After Grantaire's humiliation at the hands of Javert, he is taken in by Cosette and Jean Valjean, who attempt to reform him. Based slightly on "My Fair Lady," except Grantaire is substantially less pretty than Audrey Hepburn.
"Jean Prouvaire's Birthday" by Jen Valjean. Jean Prouvaire recieves two hundred francs for his birthday, and he decides to spend most of it on a young prostitute named Eva.
"Marius Gets a Dog" by Jen Valjean. The title says it all, and the affair pretty much ends in disaster.
"Broken Spirits" by Jen Valjean. Grantaire finally betrays his sobriety...in front of Enjolras.
"The Talk" by Jen Valjean. Courfeyrac gives the sex talk to a sleepy Marius.
"Bossuet and the Dog" by Jen Valjean. Sequel to "Marius Gets a Dog." Joly brings Tache home to Bossuet, only to learn that the two of them don't get along.
"Marius Enters the Shadow" by Jen Valjean. As Marius seeks death on the barricade, he thinks only of Cosette. Very strict canon. Not part of my main story arc.
"Admiration" by Jen Valjean. For AmZ. Jean Valjean and Javert grudgingly admit their feelings for eachother at the barricade. Mild slash. Not part of my main story arc.
Drabbles by Jen Valjean. Drabbles are short, one hundred word fanfics. Here, I post mine over a picture of some sort. Right now, there is a little one about Cosette.
