You may also download my lists. You may request any of these songs
from me. I will try to get them across to you. Before you make your requests, please
read this. Also here
is some general information about my way of naming and tagging songs.

General
Stuff
I am a big fan of mid and old age hindi film songs. Hindi film music from
1985 and earlier in its original form is what I like. Over past few years I have collected a few thousand songs.
A lot of requests had been made me to publish the listing. It is coming
out finally today, that is Novermber 22, 2002.
Sorry to disappoint you again, but again this is a provisonal list
of Hindi Songs I have in my collection. I am still building the final list
which will have another few hundred songs in it.
All these songs are in MP3 format on my backup CDs. Some of my collection
is half way across the world where I will be moving hopefully in a few months
time.
More to this list are two other listings. One is for Revival songs
containing around 400-500 songs and the other is for Instrumental and
Karaoke songs from Hindi movies containing around 250 tracks. I will try
to publish those listings soon too, but that is not a priority at this moment.
Feel free to go through the listing, search it by pressing Ctrl-f. You
may also download the listing to your own computer and go thorugh it later.
You can email my listing freely to whoever you want as long as you do not
edit the files. This is to maintain the uniformity between my database and
listing on your (and the third person's) computer.
I know that
I need to go through the whole list and create uniformity (e.g. Pakeezah
= Pakeeza). I will do it at a later time because the changes are supposed
to happen in the ID3 tags of the individual MP3 files and not just this listing.
Download the lists on
your computer for offline viewing and referecne
Click here If you want to see the the whole text
file sorted on the Song title. The individual data fields are separated
by Tabs.
Click here if you want to see the whole listing
as an Excel Sperad sheet.
If you prefer to download
these files and look on your computer anytime later, save them on your computer.
Click right mouse button on the links and choose 'Save As'.
I have included contact information in the files.
Retain the file name so you know which version you have.
Remember the following before you make any requests
Most of these songs
are downloaded from the internet (Napster, Audiogalaxy, Winmx and Kazaa)
so you should be able to download them yourself as well.
Give me sufficient
time, do not request and try to hurry me by emaling everyday. That will not
help you at all.
Do not request terribly
common songs. I won't entertain any requests like "I am a big fan of Kishorda,
please send me his 'Chingari Koi Bhadke' from Amar Prem'".
Do not request
whole bunch of songs, e.g. all ALL the songs by Mohammad Rafi, or all OLD
songs.
I have spent a
lot of time to download, listen, ID3 Tag, sort, repair and maintain backup
of these songs. I am not interested in giving them as a 'collection' to
someone. If you request a lot of songs either I won't entertain you or
it might come with a really heavy price tag.
I am not interested
in acquiring any new songs.
I hate remakes
and remixes, I will not trade any of my songs with such songs.
Provide maximum
possible and exact details of the songs if you are looking for a particular
song.
I usually don't
email songs to anyone. I maintain an FTP server of my own where
you will be provided with the song. You will have enough time (at least
at week) to pick up the song from there.
A better and quicker way
to get songs from me is to trade. Find and send some songs that I don't have
and I will return your favor. Only 1985 and prior songs please, STRICTLY
no remakes, no remixes. ONLY ORIGINALs.
* All these guidlines are relaxed if you have done me favors earlier * I will make special cases in case you
or your family members want songs for perfoming and festivity purposes.
(You shouldn't be performing/playing 50 songs tomorrow)
A few things about
the collection, my naming conventions etc.
All the songs
have been 'listened OKed' by me. Some songs are not the best quality
My convention
to name the song file is Song Title - Movie Name - Singer(s)
There could be
mistakes in the Movie names and Singers. I have tried to minimize them.
But they exist as I am aware of a few
If there are more
than one singers for a song, all the male singsers are listed first, followed
by female singers. There is only a comma separating all the singers and no
'and' or '&'. There is no particular order for listing the orders of
male singers or female singers (e.g. Manna Dey and Mohammad Rafi is same
as Mohammad Rafi and Manna Dey)
The ID3 Tags have
full names of the singers (e.g. Kundanlal Saigal) while song file name contains
short names (e.g. Saigal)
The word Chorus
is ignored (if present) from all the listing
CD = Song ripped
from CD by me or by a known source
If the song could
be called by 2 names, the two names are separated by a underscore (_) in
Song title, e.g. Albela Mausam Kahta_Maheke Kyun Gali Gali
Revival = song
from Revival CDs. (These songs are remixes. Original songs have been mixed
with some background music. The artists are original though). I am not
a big fan of Revival CDs. I think it is only some 'party music'.
Album name in
parenthesis mean either the Album name is not a Movie or it is the name
of the Shayar in case of Gazals.
