Produced as part of the York Developmental Reading Series

With Margaret Cross, Lorinne Lampert, Paul Nugent, Buzz Roddy, and Bill Weeden
and Kat Sherrell at the piano, with puppets by Leeann Cross.
Created and produced by John O'Creagh and Margaret Cross of Turgid Muck Productions, with the permission of the Flanders and Swann Estate.

Join our talented cast on a journey through the whimsical world of British duo Flanders and Swann. Between 1956 and 1967, the pair created a series of musical reviews which ran on Broadway and in the West End, as well as numerous recordings such as "At The Drop Of a Hat" and "The Bestiary of Flanders and Swann".
Our show features 16 songs, including "Design for Living", "Madeira, M'dear", "The Wompom", and the most fondly remembered "The Hippopotamus Song (Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud)". Thanks to everyone who came out to our reading at The Snapple Theatre Center

"This is a lovely way to spend an evening" is more than a song title: it's also an emphatic recommendation to visit for an hour with Margaret Cross as she performs her show, I've Got To Be There, at Rose's Turn, Sundays at 7 in September. A young lady with striking beauty, charm, a delightful sense of fun, and one of the absolutely loveliest voices in all of cabaret, Margaret is a find. Her program is a varied one, ranging from comic sure-fires (To Keep My Love Alive and Vodka) to novelty numbers (Superman) to romantic songs (I Concentrate on You, the haunting Summer Night in combination with The Girls of Summer, and the ever-exquisite If Love Were All), this latter group sung in transportingly beautiful style. Superb musical accompaniment and vocal assist, both with a fine, restrained touch, are provided by Jad Bernardo, with the show’s direction by Michael Dale.
