Company originally opened on Broadway on April 26,1970 at the Alvin Theatre, and ran for 706 performances. Music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondhiem and the book which is based upon a series of 11 one-act plays, is by George Furth. Harold Prince directed and Michael Bennett choreographed the original show.
