A. Musical Instrument Dictionary:
1. Use the links on the Resource Page to learn about the following musical instruments:

violin, clarinet, trumpet, timpani, viola, flute,
trombone, cymbals, oboe, cello, tambourine, tuba,
snare drum, French horn, bassoon, xylophone,

   double bass, saxophone

information from the resources, type in each
dictionary entry using the following format:

Name of instrument - definition  (insert picture)

Make sure you alphabetize the names of each
musical instrument. Your definition of each
instrument should include what materials it is made
out of (metal, wood, etc.), how it is played (plucked,
blown into, hit with sticks, etc.), the instrument
family to which it belongs, and any other
distinguishing characteristics that makes it special.
After completing the definitions, "right click" on
pictures of each musical instrument to copy and
paste into your document next to each entry.
B. Attribute Chart:
1. Print out the blank attribute chart on the resource
   page.
2. Use the information from your Musical Instrument
    Dictionary to complete the chart.
C. Invent a Musical Instrument:
1. Print out the blank "Invent a Musical Instrument"
   form on the
resource page.
2. Using your Musical Instrument Dictionary and your

attribute chart as a guide, invent a musical
   instrument that has at least
one characteristic from
each family. Your invented instrument must have an
original name, and you must include how it will be
played, and what materials it will be made out of.
