(5) A long time ago, (maybe 10 years) a teen-aged Jellicle cat lived in Hartforshire, England. The girl cat did not have a name, for she was abandoned at birth. Everyone knew her as "The Red Cat". Since she brought herself up and was pretty much homeless, and constantly wondered the streets in search for a place to sleep; the other cats who were a bit more high class (so they thought), didn't like her. She didn't seem to mind, but as she grew older she was getting very lonely. Also, as she grew older, she started to notice things about herself were changing dramatically. She no longer fell off garbage cans, or slipped off railings. Her coat was no longer dirty and out of place, but had turned shiny, silky, and smooth. Her powers and abilities had gotten better as she started to sense the neighborhood cats and could tell when they were approaching her part of the alley way. "The Red Cat" had never fallen in love before and had no idea how it felt. One day as she was chasing a mouse for her supper, Her eyes fell upon a great black and white dot in the distance. As she got closer she noticed it was a brawny male cat. "Meow!" She thought, "I'd like to get to know him." "The Red Cat" had it in her instincts how to flirt and did just the right things when introducing herself to him. "Wow" she said to herself, "I have never even had a boyfriend before." He asked her name, but before she could reply he said his name was Theodore and asked where she was from. "Well...ummmm...I was born down the street in an alley, and that's really all I know. I brought myself up, and I don't have much wealth." Theodore on hearing this said that that was disgusting and wanted no part of her. He Told her to leave this part of town, for even the alley ways and junkyards were too good for a poor homeless cat like her. He hissed at her loudly and he turned and walked away with his head in the air. "The Red Cat" was so offended she cried, which she had never done in all her life, for she was a strong cat. She wanted to leave the town fast and soon ran away, upon having no idea where she was headed. She reached London at dark, (where I have heard the Jellicles are kinder) and found her way to a gate of a junkyard and fell asleep. When she awoke the next morning, almost 10 cats were surrounding her in a circle. When she saw them she immediatley jumped to her feet, for she rememberd how the other cats had treated her and was very scared of them. The other cats were still looking at her in amazement. The male cats were looking at her with wondering eyes, and it seemed as though they were looking at a goddess. The girls even seemed astonished at her beauty. Then a gray male Tabby came up to her and asked if she were alright. She nodded; then he asked her name. "Uhhh...I don't have one." she said. They all gasped. Then a very friendly almost motherly cat with tiger stripes and leopard spots came over and led her through the gate and into the junkyard. Many cats came over to her and told her their names, asked her questions, told her jokes, and laughed with her. She started to trust and like them for she had never been treated nicely before. Then a slightly younger and much smaller cat came up to her with breakfast (tuna and smelts). The cat said. "Hello, I am Demeter!" Demeter looked a lot like "The Red Cat" and they immediately hit it off. Demeter said, "We seem to have a lot in common, we even look alike!" she said. They laughed. Then in a serious voice Demeter said, "You know...I never had a sister, and you have been around. You could teach me about the outside world. We already seem to be good friends." "The Red Cat" cried. But this time because she was happy. This is what she had always wanted; a family, a sister! She got to her feet ran up to everybody hugged them, and started to dance gracefully! She was a very good dancer. Victoria the kitten was amazed with her, for she loved to dance herself. "Th Red Cat's" dancing attracted a very good-looking tom who in fact had just come home that minute to the junkyard. As she was dancing, Munkustrap, the gray Tabby, took the tom aside and explained all about this mysterious new well-loved cat. The tom was very impressed and made his may into the circle where "The Red Cat" was dancing. "Hello princess." He said. "I have heard a lot of good things abou-wow-wow-it you. And from my own point of view, you are very attractive to me. "The Red Cat" knew from the moment she lay eyes on him she had found her soulmate. Just the kind of tom she had always wanted. Then he said, "My name is Rum Tum Tugger, but you can just call me Tugger." Then he said, "Now...May I have this dance. They danced until night fall and everyone was clapping. Everyone loved this new Jellicle. Old Deuteronomy the Jellicle leader, then dubbed her a member of the Jellicle Tribe. He also married "The Red Cat" and Rum Tum Tugger that night. "My sexy little princess," he said, "Not having a name will not do. I am going to call you Bombalurina. Bomb for meaning GREAT! And balurina, because you are my dainty little balurina, or ummm how ever you spell it. Soon afterwards, the two cats had their own little princess to take care of. Her name was Jemima. Bombalurina loved her new name, family, home, sister, soulmate, and kitten. She knew her life could not get any better than this.
