Related Experience:
WVFA Radio, Lebanon NH, Technical Consultant, Studio Designer, Fund Raiser
Here I designed, wired and built the control room for this new Start-up Christian
radio station.
I was also instrumental as MC at a major fundraising event bringing into
the public eye
the proper imaging for this non-commercial start up station.
KOMW Radio, Omak WA, News Director and Program Host, 3 stations
I was responsible for many things at KOMW. This was the flag for a 3 station cluster,
in which I was soley responsible for news gathering and reporting the news on all 3 stations.
I was also in charge of the station's webpages pertaining to the News department,
and in charge of public service and maintained station's public files.
Here I hosted
the local swap and shop program heard twice weekly.
It was here that I learned and
became very proficient in the use of AudioVault computer software.
I also hosted
Afternoon Drive on KOMW's Adult Hits format, and board operated live sporting events.
WMXR Radio, Lebanon NH, News/PSA Director, and Program Host
In addition to the standard duties of News Director, I hosted
the very popular Magic 94FM
Afternoon Drive show on this Classic Hits station.
I also did many remote broadcasts
from all around the region.
My show was extremely popular on the web as well,
gaining
respect from industry executives in New York City.
The station received a letter from the CEO
of Billboard magazine,
stating how he enjoyed listening to our perfectly executed format,
ranking our sound superior to that of many New York City stations.
WGLV Radio, Hartford VT, Program Director, Music Director and Ass’t CE
I designed the studio and helped build the control room for this brand new Christian
radio station.
As Program Director I was in charge of the overall sound and imaging
of the station.
I also hosted the very popular Morning Praise show heard weekday
mornings from 6 to 9AM.
In addition to the standard duties of my job description,
I developed two new radio programs that
aired on Saturday nights.
Positive Country
was a blend of Southern Gospel and Contemporary Christian country music.
This magazine formatted program not only entertained the many listeners, but also
gave insight to the backgrounds of the artists heard on the show, many of whom were
mainstream country artists.
The second program was called the Saturday Night Christian Music Party.
The target audience was the young and young at heart.
This was a very upbeat
Christian CHR formatted all dedication and request show,
done in the style of
Dick Bartley's weekly syndicated request show.
This program became so popular
that the owners of the station decided to network the program on 3 stations.
This extremely popular program was heard from Albany NY to portions of
the
New Hampshire seacoast and much of Northern Massachusetts.
I received a commendation for this perfectly executed program.
I also received a commendation for broadcast excellence in the coverage
the Blizzard of 92 which later became known as the storm of the century.
To our knowledge, we were the only station in our coverage area giving
live
updated weather reports 4 times an hour, thus protecting and serving our community
to the maximum.
This storm occurred over the weekend while most area
stations were on automated weekend formats.
The commendation was
for going beyond the call of duty, without being asked,
to take it upon
myself to execute the above.
WXXK Radio, Newport NH, Program Director, Production Director, PSA Director
This station was originally Classic Hits WCNL where I assumed the programming duties.
The station was sold to a marketing firm and they changed the format to country and it
became
KIXX 101.7-FM.
The new owners had originally wanted to bring in their
own staff, until they saw what I had done with WCNL.
They asked me to stay on as
the Program Director of the new format and new station.
I accepted the position and
flawlessly executed the new format and turned the station into
the number 1 station
in the market, within 3 months.
The station was so successful that the marketers (owners)
of the station were able
to sell the station at tremendous profit.
This station is now owned
and operated by Clear Channel.
