We were down at the lake grilling burgers with Ma and Pa Thursday night and my son comes up to me and says "Mom, what would you think if I got my ear pierced and got a lizard earring?" I said "I'd think you were a stupid boy with a lizard earring!"

I realized just a few minutes ago ... it's pert near 2pm and I'm still in my jammies!! (Well, actually it's a big loose, comfy, cotton nightgown.)

Oh I've been busy ... sort of. I did wash dishes. I have a roast in the crockpot (and it's making me very hungry!) I've done a load of laundry (and have one more to do). And I let Natty out for a half hour. (I try to stay outside with her because she's still adjusting to her new neighborhood and I dont need her wandering off to the neighbors house while my son is not here). Oh, so you're wondering if I was outside in my big loose comfy cotton nightgown? Well, uhm ... yes! I have five acres and I am bounded by woods on three sides. My nearest neighbor is about 150 yards away and there's plenty of foliage between us, so have no fear.

I do need to go to the store for a few things, so I guess I should probably get dressed and go do that. I'd probably be pushing the envelope pretty hard if I went to the grocery story in my nightgown!!

But I must. Wash dishes, that is. For those of you who dont know me or havent been reading my blog long .... I hate housework. All except laundry. For some crazy reason I like doing laundry. I especially hate doing dishes. I have no dishwasher. And as of 7am today I have no clean cereal bowls (of which I have eight) and no clean coffee cups (of which I have about 12). These two items do not work well in paper. However I use paper plates ALL the time.

So -- if you'd like to bring your dirty laundry over to my house, I will wash your clothes while you wash my dishes, and maybe we'll have some coffee and dark chocolate when we're done and get to know each other!!

Well, except for the judges “stamp of approval”, it’s all a done-deal for my son and his (soon to be ex) wife. They signed the papers yesterday. They’ve been married four years (as of this past Monday) and have been struggling for about half of that to try to hold it together. No one (including either of them or myself) is pointing a finger of blame, but the sad truth of it is, it’s over. They are still civil when in group situations (they have many mutual friends, most of whom they both had long before the marriage) and they will spend quite a lot of time in each other’s company because of that.

There are no children (thank goodness!) just my two grand-dogs, Shelby and Natty. Shelby went with her mom and Natty is now living at my house with me and my son and my daughter and my other grand-dog Lady Belle. It’s a full house (trailer) for sure!! But we all get along amazingly well, so it’s not putting a strain on any one (except maybe my water heater!)

I put the VERY LAST payment on my Jeep in the mail yesterday!! Yippee!!

She's got 93,000 miles on her (I traveled quite a lot when I first got her) and the check engine light came on this week, but never-the-less, she's all mine!

We dont know yet. The local tv station just reported 100% of the votes counted and the vote is 519 to 515 ...... methinks there will have to be a recount on that one just to make sure.

This gives you an idea of just how important your vote is in any election.

I'm guessing we wont have official results until at least tomorrow afternoon. Wow!

We have run-off city elections today. Are there run-off's in your area? If so, get your hiney out there and vote! If you dont vote then keep your mouth shut when you dont like what your elected officials are doing!

Homestead Hollow

This weekend me, BabyGurl, and Ma went to Homestead Hollow. It's an arts and crafts festival and it is HUGE. Everything for sale has to be hand made by the sellers. They have it three times a year. Once in May, then Oct and Nov. Of course some of the things are appropriate for year-round but there are lots of seasonal decorations. Garden stuff in the spring (I got a fabulous planter once), and fall, Halloween and Christmas decorations in Oct-Nov. This one had had a few Christmas decorations but mostly Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving stuff. But I'm addicted to Christmas decorations. I have enough now that I can decorate at least three houses, but I keep buying more. I just sort of rotate from year to year and never have the same deco-scheme two years in a row.

Anyway .... this is what I bought this weekend. I am especially addicted to snowpeople.

I also bought two candles (another weakness of mine). I bought McIntosh Apple and Cinnamon Sticks.

Hopefully the weather will be good again when they have the one in November so I can go back and get some more Christmas decorations I dont need!

Who's Gonna Bail ME Out?

This 700 BILLION dollar bailout just chaps my hide! I didnt do anything wrong, I didnt borrow more than I could pay back, and I'm working hard for the little bit of money I get. Why do I have to bail out everyone else? (By the way the stocks are still free-falling even after the bailout bill passed!)

My dear friend Tony Mullins (a very successful Nashville songwriter) has written a song "Who's Gonna Bail Me Out?" and made a video for it and posted it on YouTube.
