This field is just north of Birmingham, AL.
Hudu had a ballgame today. In fact, he had two. He plays full-time with the JV team, and he gets to dress out and travel with the Varsity team and often gets a chance for an inning or two. Today the JV played first (I missed that one because I didnt get off work in time) and the Varsity played just as I was getting off from work. Hudu got to start and play two innings. Unfortunately he only got one at-bat. But I got lots of pictures of him catching. And we got a few shots of Miss Gabbie too!

That's my BabyGurl holding Gabbie.

Today my nephew's high school ball team got to be a part of - and meke their own - history. They played a game at Rickwood Field - the oldest ball field in America.
Before the game they took the boys on a little tour of memorabilia there, and upon finding out that my nephew is a left-handed catcher, they pointed out to him another great left-handed catcher from the old Negro leagues - and when I researched later I found out that Larry Legrande was the last person to catch for Satche Page. My nephew was impressed.
Here are a few pics from the day.
The whole team in front of the scoreboard.

My brother and nephew in front of the scoreboard.

On the dugout. (The 'team mom' was taking pics from the field and my nephew turned just as I snapped this one!)

His first at-bat.

On second base. (Notice the "Mumm's Extra Rye Whiskey" billboard in the background!)

Behind the plate.

After the game. Larry Curly and Moe? (The one in the middle is my nephew)

A couple of the billboards around the field.

It was a wonderful day. I got a little too much sun (one week ago we had three inches of snow!) I am so relaxed and exhausted from the fresh air and sun. I think it was just what the doctor ordered!
