Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my site.  I'm Glenn Loughran. I'm thirty-five and come from Drogheda, Co Louth Ireland.

I've been into music all my life with a succession of older brothers and sisters bringing in records.  Everything from Elvis to Abba, The Beatles to Sinatra.

I got my first guitar for my fourteenth birthday.  The following year, the old piano (made in the 1920's) was sent over from our grandfathers house after he passed away.  That started my passion for keyboards.

I recorded my first demo tape "Public Enemy" in 1984 at the age of 14.

 I Joined my first band at sixteen.  Everyone wanted to be the cool guitarist so I had to learn the bass!!

So I've been playing all three instruments since then.  My influences range from Aztec Camera to Queen.. from the Beatles (of course!!) to Billy Joel.

For me, anything goes with a musical piece.  I don't believe in being committed to one genre or style of music.

I'm a huge fan of Cinematic music, the big sound. I have written many instrumental pieces which are available here.  I have a particular fondness for the spy theme sound.

I'm basically into melodic music, not so much loud music with no tune.

For example, I wouldn't listen to underground dance music but I love it when samples of classic music are put together with great beats.

For the last two years I have been recording my work on a Fostex 16 track digital home studio. It's a far cry from my days on the Tascam four track tape!

It's been a learning curve and every time I record something new I learn.

Still, I have so much to understand in terms of using this machine to its full extent.

I have recorded four albums to date. Three originals and one acoustic covers album.
