Sigma Alpha Iota History...
Sigma Alpha Iota was founded on June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music, Ann Arbor Michigan. Its founders included seven gifted musicians: Mary Storrs Andersen, Elizabeth Campbell, Frances Caspari, Nora Crane Hunt, Leila Farlin Laughlin, Georgina Potts, and Minnie Davis Sherrill. |

Delta Nu History...
The Delta Nu Chapter holds the esteemed privelege of being THE FIRST BLACK CHAPTER of Sigma Alpha Iota to be chartered. It was founded on January 10, 1965 at the School of Music on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC. Our founders included 33 women students and 4 women faculty, formerly known as the Women's Music Organization on campus, making it 37 founders in all. |
