Where Is The Love?

Lack Of Parental Guidance

Question

Do you think it's cute when a baby or little child repeats something they heard on the radio, a music CD, or from someone around them?

My Answer

I don't think its cute, many times parents will allow their child to listen to the same genre of music that they listen to. Children then try to imitate everything they heard and saw because they think its cool to do so. When children curse and say little lines and phrases that only adults should be saying it embarrasses parents and contributes to stereotypes that people often make about lack of parental guidance on children.

My Point Of View

If children are the future then why don't musicians and parents act like it? Youth are being exposed to sexual phrases and false education about what sex is. This does not occur only in Rap, Hip-Hop, and R&B but in almost every genre of music out today. So the question is “is there any music suitable for children to listen to?” sure there is I've learned that for every CD created with explicit content there is an clean version created also they also have CD's of popular music for kids to listen to. So why don't parents buy more clean music or music for kids by kids? Many people say that teenagers are mature enough to know right from wrong and not believe the glamour that people make of their lives through songs but i dont think so. If music is so harmful for teens then it should'nt be played for kids because kids are very influential, everything excites them. So when they heard a word they are not supposed to hear instead of passing it they put extra emphasis on it and sometimes even repeat it to other kids.

What is the proper age when you feel like you can decide what to listen to, what to buy, when to date, raise allowance/curfews? Many people would say they didn't know. Teens think that they are mature enough to handle the real world when many are not. They think that they are wise and mature enough to decide what's good for them. Do you? Many teens think that they can do whatever they want and suffer light consequences or sometimes even get by without consequences, well their wrong when you have sex you have the risk of getting pregnant, you sell drugs you get arrested or sometimes killed, stealing gets you jail time. So why aren't our youth being taught more positive ways to live life by parents and adults around them? You answer that question and then pass the word on because youth today needs to hear it…..
