Here is a review of the Verse Chorus demo. It appeared on Planet Sound, which is on Channel 4 (Teletext, page 350). It was transmitted to TV screens on the 3rd of March, 2006.
VERSE CHORUS
Older Than Jesus 8/10
Tremendously promising 3-track demo by this 5-piece from
Bristol, fronted by the wry and enjoyably arch Marcos Sullivan.
His influences are classic ones but the title track ("I'm older than Jesus,
but I'm younger than god") is as laconic as VU-era Lou Reed. Or John Otway.
Lou Reed also hovers over the beautifully streamlined 'Some Sunday Morning'.
Naff name but very much worth checking out.
