The Doolys

Hey guys what's going on? This is a temporary website, so I'm gonna make it fairly short and sweet. We're a new band from Kennesaw/Marietta Georgia, and we're still working out all the kinks.
Everything we do is different; one minute we'll be playing funk, the next minute we'll go into some blues, and after that it's southern rock, so on and so forth. But we also have a fairly unique sound(at least we like to think so), and most everything has a solid rock base. I put a link at the bottom that takes you to an mp3 that Billy Gewin and I did last winter. Most of our stuff sounds at least a little like that.
As of this moment (January 25, 2004), we have no recordings, but plan on beginning a short demo tomorrow night. Most of the recordings will take place in my fathers basement (aka Country Lane Studios), but we have more than our fair share of hands being lent out. Scott from STR studios, Billy Gewin and Cave Cricket Studios, Jay Wiggins at Spaghetti Western, and Andrew Burn and Virtuo Recording/Mastering have all been very gracious, and offered their services for either free, or very moderate fees.
Anna Henderson has also been amazing, serving as a manager, and getting the word out. She was the one who proposed the name, after Vince Dooley from UGA, and it definately gets the job done. If anyone can think of a better one, however, feel free to send suggestions to our email, which is posted at the bottom.
We should start to play out in either March or April, and may even have a few shows by the end of February, depending on how the demo turns out. I'm in high hopes. Cozzi Cafe in downtown Kennesaw has open mic nights every Wednsday, so we'll probably do a small acoustic show every once in a while over there. Stephen Bush, who also records with us once in a blue moon, might bring his band and do a show with us. Integen, The Futurists, Billy Gewin, NDB, and Muzzle Break are on our list of people we'd like to play with, and we're willing to play with anybody. If you'd like to do a show...send an email.
That's about it, for now atleast. We should be moving to a server hosted by Billy Gewin as soon as I build a better one, and depending on how long that takes I may or may not put pics/clips onto this one. Take care!
