1975
Harmony Monterey Model 1235
The Monterey model was one of the top of
the line models. The neck has a rosewood fretboard with pearloid
inlaid
dots. This particular guitar looks like it was kept in its case! The
overall finish is excellent. However, their is some finish
checking on the top. All in all it
is a very sweet guitar with very low string height...a real playable
guitar!

Airline Archtop UAG30
This
60's model Airline was either made by Harmony or Kay to be sold in
Montgomery Ward stores. It has the "painted on" white bindings common
to many Harmony Archtones but appears to have a solid spruce top. Like
many of the premium Harmonys it has original Kluson tuners. It
comes with the original "Brown and Tan" chipboard case. Overall,
this guitar is in close to mint condition, as is the case. It does have
a steel reinforced neck, but like many old guitars, the neck has a bow
to it. Modern luthier technology has presses that can straighten this
out. Or if you want a slide axe, this one will work as is.

1938 Gibson L-37
This
old Gibson is a real player! It is fitted with basic Waverly tuners
that are still shiny. It has the original tortoise shell pickguard and
the original Gibson "alligator" case with the leather handle. Even
though it is "chip board" it is very good shape. The fretboard is still
like new with minimal fret wear. The action with the original rosewood
bridge is unbelieveably low. Unlike many archtops I have had,
this bridge is extended up instead of being sanded down low ... lots of
adjusting room! Since this is a real "player" I have installed a
Fishman Archtop transducer bridge which is operated by a Martin
tone/volume control that is plugged into a female 1/4" jack. The
body has not been modified (drilled) in any way in order to maintain
it's vintage status. I will sell this with or without the Fishman
installed.
With Fishman Pickup ...$2500.00 ..... *with
stock bridge (no pickup) ... $2250.00

Harmony Folk Model 162
It
has a solid mahogany body with a solid spruce
top, original tuners and a neck that is adjustable. The
action is a little high but plays well in the first six
frets. The soundhole is unique in that it has a white binding in
it and the pickguard and body binding are tortoise shell!! This a
very playable...but not perfect guitar that sounds awesome with a
slide, or have the neck heat pressed to make it 100% playable.
This guitar is physically in very nice condition with NO cracks or
dings.

Harmony Folk Model 162
This vintage Harmony is
another one of those guitars that sounds so good I really hate to
part with it. It has a solid mahogany body with a solid spruce
top, original tuners and a neck that is adjustable. The
action is a little high but plays well in the first four
frets. The soundhole is unique in that it has a white binding in
it and the pickguard and body binding are tortoise shell!! This a
very playable...but not perfect guitar that had a crack on the side that has been repaired.

1937 Supertone by Harmony
Entry level guitar, with
"slightly curved
top and back", round sound hole, silver fingerboard. Nickel silver
tailpiece, floating bridge. 3/4 size. All guitars in 1935
catalog had their mandolin equivalent, the mandolin
is S391. I have checked Harmony websites and have not
seen any others like
this. The bridge (as seen in the photo) was a wooden one, but due
to
the string height, I have replaced it with a metal one with a plastic
saddle inserted in it. This guitar is a fantastic slide guitar!
It has
the sound of an archtop. Like some of my other guitars, a heat
treatment could straighten this all-wood neck.

Kay Classical
This
old Kay Classical was rated as "Top of the Line" when it was made in
the 60's. It has a solid spruce top and a gorgeous maple
body. It comes with its original chipboard case. Both the
case and guitar look like they were kept in Grandpa's closet all these
years ... virtually no wear at all!

Regal Parlor Style "L" Model
This little guy has a deep body and a
great sound! If you are a collector this is for you! Made
by Regal in Chicago in the late 40's, this has gold leaf fret numbers
for the student guitarist. The body is made of what I
think is birch, with a vintage sunburst finish. There is some top
warpage and cracking but the string action is still perfect with a neck
that feels like a small baseball bat! It's a player!
