The 2005 TGM Awards are only three weeks away - celebrating the best in local music in Cumbria and SW Scotland, with a total of thirteen awards up for grabs, covering a range of awards from EP and Song to Bands's Genre and Band's Area, as well as the big gong itself, Best Band (Overall). These awards are voted by you - and you have the power to decide who you want to win in each award. The nominations for all the awards that are up for grabs are all ready to view by clicking HERE - and you can also view last year's winners of the 2004 TGM Awards by clicking HERE!
TGM has also followed suit with many of the local bands and promoters in Cumbria and SW Scotland and have gone My Space! Yep, TGM has its own My Space page, giving you the lastest news from TGM HQ. We have EP reviews galore for you all to view. We are building up the EP Review page as we speak, with brand new reviews of EP from many of the top and upcoming local bands. We currently have MS Recordings' ctrlaltdelete and Skoud's new EP's, ready for you to view, as well as Synko first full length album. In the Spring, you will have heard the news of the departure of Chris Hewitt from ctrlaltdelete, and has been replaced by Simon Papeleo from Second to Last and Joey Cohen Riot fame. The Brickyard, Carlisle, will be celebrating the memory and legacy of the late John Peel by hosting a week of live music, entitled John Peel Week from Monday 24th to 29th October. Each night will feature different live bands from local acts like Overdriven Unknown and Second To Last, to non-local acts like The Most Terrifying Thing, Monkey Boy, This Is Seb Clarke and Skeletal Family, as well as the Brickyard's own Rhythmic Voodoo night. The Venue, Dumfries, present the Trick Or Freak night, celebrating Halloween, on Friday 28th October, featuring live music from Turbyne, Genetik Blueprint and Sadie Hawkins Dance.
The New School Of Rock/Nokia Raw Tour comes to the Brickyard on Halloween night (31st October), with live music from Tokyo Dragons, The Sound Explosion and The Answer.
