                   "Southside" Johnny Lyon:
                   b. 04 Dec 1948, Neptune, NJ

                   "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen:
                   b. 23 Sep 1949, Long Branch, NJ

                   "Mighty" Max Weinberg:
                   b. 13 Apr 1951, So. Orange, NJ

                   Danny "Phantom" Federici:
                   b. 23 Jan 1950 Flemington, NJ

Johnny played with Bruce Springsteen and Steven
Van Zandt in bands called "The Sundance Blues Band"
and "Dr. Zoom and The Sonic Boom".

Like Springsteen and Van Zandt, Johnny's
beginnings go back to the Asbury Park area
and once The Asbury Jukes were created, they
were regulars at the Stone Pony, which is
still in Asbury Park today. (NJ)

At one time Southside Johnny and Steven Van Zandt
had a group called "Southside Johnny and The Kid".

Southside started singing with the "Blackberry
Booze" band in the late 1960s. After adding a horn
section to this band, it became the "The Asbury
                   Jukes".

The "Jersey Boys" as some call them, Bruce, Steven,
Johnny, and Bon Jovi are all intertwined in one way
or another through their music. Each have played
with the other. Steven is now a member of the E Street
Band. Max Weinberg's band "Weinberg 7" plays late
night tv and LaBama plays for both Johnny and Max.

Max is the drummer in the E Street Band. One could
get lost in the maze of musicians and their individual
bands that seem to surround Johnny and Bruce in one
                   way or another.

I think it could best be summed up as one asking "What's
in the Jersey water?" So much great talent has come
from this small piece of the world.
