Conclusion: It was found that music did have an affect on the test subjects' pulse rate.
Discussion: Some experimental errors may be the cause of not repeating the test subjects' pulse rates, which may have affected the experiment significantly. This could've been improved by repeating their pulse rate without music three times and averaging it and repeating the 4 songs' results and averaging that.
Another error which may've occured is due to the place I held my experiment. I had done my experiment with different test subjects all in different locations, hence the temperature or surroundings would've boosted or decreased their pulse rates.
The test subjects' taste in music may also have resulted in the change of results if I were to do the experiment again. Some may find it soothing to listen to heavier music as they can relate to it more and others may find it disruptive and unpleasant. Hence, this may of affected their pulse rates.
On the whole, I would say that this experiment has been a worthwhile one. It has helped me to have a better understanding of my topic and has increased my knowledge about the many affects music can do to us if we chose our taste of music wisely.
Further investigations I could take could be to find out whether or not the pulse rates of people who were sick would have affected my experiment. Another good suggestion could be to find out whether or not listening to a song several times continually and finding the pulse rate during that period would have changed my persepective the affects music could do to our pulse rates.
