REVIEW - LUCIANO CD RELEASE PARTY Photos By Jan Salzman And Marsha Hunt
Luciano at “Jamaica Live” 2-14-08

Luciano was preceded by long time friend and musical associate Mikey General who performed some songs from his new CD, “Confidence in Self.”
Then on came Jah Messenjah, Luciano. Although he didn’t have his band with him, it didn’t change the level of energy in his performance. He opened with “Give Praise to Rastafari,” from his “Serious Times,” CD, which is always a crowd pleaser. In a tribute to Bob Marley, he sang “Redemption Song” solo with his guitar. Close friend Mikey held the microphone for him until a mike stand could be found. Mikey also sang harmonies with him on many songs. Another tribute to Bob Marley, Luci sang “Jah Live,” which he also covers on his new CD. A highlight of the evening was when he performed his fantastic new single, “No Evil,” which pounded us with dance vibes.
All-in-all it was a very satisfying show. I drove home listening to the new CD and singing along all the way. I am very excited that Jamaica Live is bringing Luciano back to LA on March 28th at the Crash Mansion in downtown.
