The second solo album for Ziggy Marley, full of irie beats starting with "Into The Groove" a very upbeat melody that tends to keep you moving from side to side, and rocking back and forth, fast talking, uplifting rhytmn, don't be afraid of the light, come for the ride , where we lose ourselves just to find who we are. Love Is My Religion, comes to you like a statement, believe it or not, take it or leave it, Ziggy says, this song seems to be a happy tune, it makes you feel good after listening to the word LOVE so many times. Come On Baby Lets Make Some Music is what Ziggy says in his third song on the album called "Make Some Music",with some sweet soft spoken vibes at times, nice rhythm, sexy rap Zigman! Many different sounds with this one, horns, drums, going to the roots, yeah! Ah...somewhere in there he states, "This Song Is Not For The Show" sounds a bit personal Ziggy, sweet, your Queen is Blessed. Friend is just that, he speaks of being lonely before he met this friend , and thanks the friend for being there, through ups and downs and still around, thats a true friend! Black Cat has to be my favorite song on this album, the beat just never ends, Ziggy's voice rises a bit as he's determined to make the Black Cat opposite of what everyone thinks it to be, love will make the bad go away, I dunno , it's one of the worlds oldest superstitions, good luck Zig....the beats bring back memories of the good old times in New Orleans, beautiful.
On The Beach In Hawaii, sweet serenade for that special someone in his life or yours if your on the beach in Hawaii, a little pakalolo to get the mood right , he says that Love is like the open sea, ah! that's a lot of Love......and that's what I am going to say about this one, a sweet sweet love song.....sing that girl a love song. A Lifetime isn't enough to love you and one lifetime isn't enough to live.....time passes by , we know it moves faster if you don't LIVE, and we sometimes tend to get love wrong on the first time around, when we finally find true love , we feel we've lost a bit of our forever.Be Free is all about the system and control, even tells mama that its time to go, a bit about politics, pretty cool tune. Keep On Dreaming cause that's what it take to communicate, sounds like a lost of love, but it's never too late,the sullen sounds make your heart beat, then an upbeat to end the curiosity. Still The Storms has a special place in my heart, the end of this month will be the one year aniversary of Hurricane Katrina, we are still in awe! All of our hurricanes come from Africa, we watch them roll off of the coast two and three at a time, we watch and ready, each year they come....there's much more to this one, it's much of experiencing, knowing what happened, slaves, and wondering what's going to happen...punishment? Unrest Spirits. WAR....Very deep, a song that touches us all. Hey don't you know?
