REGGAE ICON BUJU BANTON SELLS OUT EUROPEAN SHOWS

Rides Multiple Singles Charts In Jamaica and United Kingdom

(New York, NY/Kingston, JA - 2, July 2006) International Dancehall-Reggae star Buju Banton launched a 25 city European tour two weeks ago, and has already performed to sell-out crowds in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Dortmund in Germany, Paris, and several towns in Italy. This week the tour picks up in England, where Banton and his Shiloh Band will crisscross the country with gigs in Brighton, Birmingham, London and Bristol, and then head to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belgium.

Meanwhile, back in Jamaica, Buju Banton’s blazing single “Nothing” from the forthcoming album TOO BAD has entered Hype TV’s Top 20 Singles Chart at #18. Produced by Banton and his Gargamel crew, the gritty new tune also debuted at #7 on BBC 1Xtra’s highly influential Top 10 Dancehall Chart this past week.

More Buju Chart Action: “Me & Oonu” (Danga Zone) on the retro Wipe Out riddim holds firm at #9 on the BBC 1Xtra Dancehall Chart. “Tilly Ben Ben” (Flip Money) comes in at #19 on RETV’s Top 20 Dancehall Charts and #18 on Hot 102 Jamaica’s Weekly Top 30 Singles Chart. “Talk To Me” (H20) currently sits at #12 on Hot 102 Jamaica’s Weekly Top 30 Singles Chart. Buju Banton’s hotly anticipated album TOO BAD is scheduled for release September 12, 2006 on Gargamel Music, Inc. It is his first pure dancehall project in over 10 years.
