This beautiful lady is my Mother, Betty Joan Keator Dasher. She was born and raised in Kingston, New York. She was always a good student and very musical. She learned to play the Flute and Piano and attended the University of Miami as a Music Major. She played Piccalo in the Hurricanes Marching Band and met her future husband, Dick Dasher, who played Sousaphone. She is not only a wonderful mother to 4 children, but a grandmother to 9 as well. She was a much loved grade school music teacher in Pennsylvania and acquired many distinguished awards throughout her career. A few years ago she was diagnosed as having Alzheimers disease. On June 13th, 2010 she passed away and our long goodbye was over. I don't need to tell anyone how devastating this is for the family. I only want to raise awareness of the disease and ask if there is any way you can support the research to find a cure please do it. I heard one quote that within a few years an estimated one out of evrey 3 people in the United States will either have Alzheimers or be directly related to someone who does. God Bless you Mom, you will always be in my heart.
