Cashier

 

 

           

The name of the career that I have studied is a cashier.  When you here the word cashier, the first thing that probably pops in your head money cause you here the word cash.  Yeah being a cashier has something to do with money but not your money.  When you are a cashier there’s a lot of money handling and associating.  

Being a cashier has requirements, you have to come to work on time and ready to work. Being on time is a real big deal when it because when you are late that shows your boss that you are not serious enough about your job, and if you are late your messing up other peoples lives cause sometimes they cant leave until get there and they may have to be some where ant a certain time.  Another important thing is knowing your job, you should know all procedures and how everything works that you need to use around you.  Something else you need to know is how to deal with customers and how to be polite to them because you always want the customer to feel comfortable.  In order to do this you must greet them do your job and tell them to have a nice day, that way there are no complaints.

Some other occupations that relate to this would have to be a advertiser or a sales men both of these relate because you are selling something and you want the customer to by whatever the item is.  An advertisement brings the customers to the store so that the items in the store get sold and everything runs smoothly.

There’s not a lot of school required to be a cashier. You just need basic training and good people skills and basic math. For this job you don’t need college or any special training just the training that they give you. It is important that you always treat the customer with respect so you get no complaints filed against you. And also make sure that you come to work ready and on time and that you stay on task.          

If a problem occurs while you are working you should address the customer appropriately without yelling or screaming at them. Because you have to remember this is a place of business and you are here for work not for confrontation with the people that make this business work. Even if the customer is wrong you should never throw it in their face just stay polite and courteous to them. But if the situation gets out of hand then you should contact the manager or the assistant manager so the problem can be dealt with appropriately. That way when the customer comes back there will be no problems that keep occurring and they can come to shop whenever they want without any problems. And then you can also work without any problems. This way it is a better environment for everyone.
