Subject: Interview- Exclusive
Candid with "Poison's" Bret Michaels
By Lynn Ramage'
A really great Rock show is coming this summer to the Electric Factory on Friday, August 15th! This tour which has been featuring rockers Vince Neil, Skid Row and Poison will now only feature this area's "Octane" and "Poison" here in Philadelphia. I recieved countless emails as to who really was playing on the 15th. I believe you can trek to Scranton, Pa if you still wish to see all three bands. Why Neil and Skid Row are not on this bill here in Philly is still a question even to me! Well,
regardless this is truly an exciting show was "Poison" is one of the big names from the 80's and proving that their fans still do love and adore
this music! I had a chance to chat today with Bret Michaels. He has a new CD out called "Songs of Life" which is really really very good! You will love the songs "Raine" (about his daughter) and "Forgiveness" and "Loaded Gun" He is shirtless on the cover and just let me say one word; "Hot Hot Hot!" Like millions of other women out there, I just love Bret! He is so upbeat and nice and real! He is very down to earth. We really hit if off on the phone! He has a postive outlook and a super personality! I bombarded him with a lot of questions and then later discovered my answering machine didn't tape a thing from the interview! This is the worst feeling in the world! I had this happen a few years back with Motley Crue! I sure hope that can recall all of our conversation:
L. R: You look fantastic, how do you stay in such great shape?
B. M: I lift and do kick boxing and I am into extreme sports. love football and in fact I have my own football field at home where a bunch of us get together and play a real rough game. I ride motocross
which I love and I am a very active person.
L. R: The New CD is really good, are you playing any of the old hits on tour and how is it going?
B. M: Oh yeah! The tour is going really well, we had a really wild show last night!I notice when we play our last song which is "Nothing but a Good
Time" that's when things go really nuts! We do a full stage production, things get crazy!
L. R: You toured with David Lee Roth in the old days, what was he like?
B. M: Oh Dave was great! We went out on the "Skyscraper" tour and it was wild! (laughter) Dave is a funny guy though, he talks all the time like in third person. He'll be talking to you like this; "Well Dave thinks that Bret should do this or that" and I'd be looking all around to see like if there was another "Dave" somewhere that I wasn't seeing ya know? He is so funny!
L. R: You're involved with Charlie Sheen with movie productions, anything in the works? And describe Charlie in one sentence.
B. M: Yes actually there is! I'm working on something called the "Forgotten" which should be a suspense thriller. Charlie is a great actor!
Let me tell you he's "the real deal," He's real and he's a very good person.
L. R: If you could spend one day with anyone at all who would it be?
B. M: Oh wow! That's a tough question. (pause) I'd have to say the"King" Ya know, To ask Elvis, what was it like? And to ask him if he really realized what an impact he made on people's lives! I was raised in the 60's and my dad listened to country and Mom liked her rock but we always listened to Elvis.
L. R: Favorite past times, cars, animals and escapes?
B. M: My favorite past time is spending time with my daughter. I love sports and writing music. My favorite all time muscle car is a 63 Corvette
convertible, there were only like 5,000 made. I also like the 68 Camaro RS. I love horses and my two German shepherds. To get away? I love to go anywhere where there is a warm tropical beach to just relax.
L. R: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
B.M: (the quickest response I ever had) Hopefully on the phone with you again doing press for an upcoming show! I hope to still be writing music.
