Ch. 6 Memories From Ice

Joel woke up to a phone ringing loudly in his ear. He sat up straight confused. He rubbed his eyes as he felt a hand reach behind him and pick up the shrill phone. He turned to see Tony and smiled as he remembered everything. Tony smiled as he spoke with whoever was on the phone. Joel lay back against the pillows and Tony reached over to lightly stroke his shoulder.

Closing his eyes and smiling, he was so happy he had finally gotten to be with Tony. At that moment he didn’t care that Tony was Benji’s boyfriend- just lying there next to him was enough to make him giddily smile.

Tony hung up the phone and reached over Joel to place it back in the cradle. Joel opened his eyes to see Tony leaning sideways over him. His hair stuck up in the front and was pushed down in the back. Joel smiled at how gorgeous he looked and Tony’s eyes met his gaze.

Tony smiled back and leaned in giving Joel a kiss. Joel groaned as he pulled away. Tony lay back down and propped his head on Joel’s shoulder, tracing lazy fingers over Joel’s stomach.

“So umm,” Joel spoke still with a smile on his face, “last night was………”

“Incredible.” Tony smiled and kissed Joel’s jaw. Joel smiled and turned towards Tony. Their lips melted together.

After a short while Tony pulled away. He smiled at Joel, “As much as I would love to stay here all day, that was Matt on the phone and he says that they’re all at your place waiting for us.” Joel nodded and sat up again.

He looked around the room, “Where’s my clothes?” Tony laughed, “I think they’re in the living room,” getting up and going to his dresser. Joel watched his beautiful tattooed body as he slipped random clothes on.

Tony turned back around and sat on the bed putting socks on. He smiled at Joel, “Are you gonna put some clothes on or are you gonna go home like that.” Joel smiled and shook his head no. “Well it would be fun to see you naked all day but I think the guys might think it’s a little odd if you show up naked and with a hard on,” he laughed motioning to Joel’s obvious lump. Joel blushed deeply and Tony laughed then kissed him gently. “Come on, I’ll help ya!”

They stumbled out of Tony’s bedroom and into a sight of clothes everywhere. Tony picked up Joel’s boxers, “These are yours.” Joel slid them on and pulled up his socks that he had somehow managed to keep on. Tony laughed as he saw the socks, “Wow, how’d I miss ripping those off you?”

Joel smiled and shook his head as Tony handed him his shirt. Joel laughed as he saw Tony’s boxers on the windowsill, “How did these get all the way over here?” he said as he tossed them at Tony.

As Tony found Joel’s pants in the kitchen he handed them to Joel, “Did you like the ice?”

Joel grinned and nodded, “Fuck yes! That was unlike anything I’ve ever felt.”

Tony smiled and right before he kissed him he said, “Benji never liked the ice.” He kissed Joel but Joel didn’t kiss back. He pulled away and looked at Joel.

Joel sat down on the back of the couch and hung his head, “Yeah, Benji.”

“I…..I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said anything about him.”

“No,” Joel shook his head stopping Tony, “it had to come up.” Tony nodded as he stood next to Joel. “So……you’re still with him.” Tony hung his head and studied his fingers. “Was I…….was I a one night stand?”

Tony looked back up, “No, no! Joel, I…….I’ve always had feelings for you I just didn’t know you shared them. But Benji did and,” he trailed off. “I just…….give me some time to think things through.”

Joel buckled his belt, “Maybe you should have “thought things through” before you sucked me off.” Joel walked towards the front door and began down the hallway of the apartment building.

Tony yelled after him, “Joel, stop! Let me drive you- its too far to walk.” He locked his door and Joel nodded not looking at him. They drove in silence back to the twin’s condo. As Tony pulled into the parking space Joel opened the door before the car even stopped completely. Tony reached out grabbing Joel’s arm and Joel looked back, brow furrowed waiting for an answer. “Please Joel……Don’t be mad. I don’t know. Just let me think. Please?” Joel nodded and Tony let go of his arm.

He walked slowly until Tony caught up with him. They walked through the door and greeted everyone. Joel was the first to walk by Benji and Benji looked up, “Where did you go?”

Joel stopped a second and looked at Tony, “Tony dropped me off at Audrey’s.” He lied to his brother- he hated lying to his brother, his twin.

Tony stepped up next to Benji and smiled, “I would have come back but I was so tired. I'm sorry babe.” He leaned down and kissed Benji lightly.

Joel closed his eyes and reopened them, “I'm taking a shower.”

He nearly ran to the bathroom and slammed the door behind him making sure to lock it. Damn Tony, why did he have to still be with Benji? Why! Joel shed all his clothes and quickly got in the shower turning the water as hot as it would go. He scrubbed his skin trying to get every place that Tony had touched clean. Not because he wanted to, because he had to. He couldn’t have Tony and never would. The simple night before had become a one-time fling and it could never be repeated because Tony had Benji. Tony loves Benji. This kept repeating in his head. He closed his eyes and leaned against the cold tile of the shower wall. He slid down it into a sitting position and mumbled slowly over and over again, “Tony loves Benji.” The water went cold but he still didn’t move.

He sat there for an eternity before deciding that he had to get over Tony. He turned the water off and felt the chill for the first time. He wrapped a towel around himself and picked up his clothes, went to his room, got dressed and then slowly crept out to the kitchen. He opened the fridge door and looked for some food, ignoring the laughing happy group of people in the living room. Not finding any he opened the freezer. The cold air making him shiver. He searched through the boxes of frozen foods for anything that looked halfway edible and an ice cube fell out of the tray and onto the floor. He just stared at it. Ice- Tony. Shit. Why do I keep thinking about him? I can’t have him!

He grabbed some random box and ripped it open shoving it into the microwave. He pushed a button and then another and pushed start. Nothing happened he pushed more buttons but the stupid thing wasn’t working. He smacked the side of it and mumbled obscenities at the poor microwave. He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to see Billy. He blushed and looked down at the microwave. Billy pushed two buttons and the microwave started. Joel just stood there looking at it and when he looked up to where Billy had been he saw Tony instead. He was sitting on the couch next to Benji in the other room. His head was down and he was chewing on his labret- a sign that Joel learned meant he was thinking. Benji did that too. Damn him, damn Benji, damn their perfect little relationship and the perfect things they do alike.

Joel looked back at the microwave and watched the food spinning. He dazed off thinking and his mind wandered to Tony. He distantly heard someone calling his name. He heard it again and was snapped into reality when a warm hand touched his elbow. He picked his head up and looked at Paul and Matt watching him worriedly. “We were wondering if you were coming to the movies with us?” Matt asked.

Joel shook his head thinking Benji and Tony were going too, “No, I'm tired. I think I’ll just chill for a while.” He fake smiled as best as he could and Matt nodded.

The microwave dinged and Matt smiled, “Okay if you change your mind were leaving in a half hour.” Joel nodded taking his food out of the micro. Matt went back into the other room but Paul stayed. He went up to Joel, who was stirring his plastic plate of noodles, “Is everything okay?” he asked. Joel shrugged and smiled again, “Yeah fine.” Paul nodded and shrugged, “Okay.” He left Joel with his noodles. Joel went to the fridge and looked at the alcohol choices. He knew that beer alone wouldn’t make him drunk enough but he picked up a six-pack of corona. He grabbed his food and made his way back down the hall to his room. He locked the door behind him and sat on his bed. He drank the bottles fast and fell asleep as quickly as he could not wanting to think about anything.
