I close my eyes as if I could find even a little bit of energy left. My arm feels too tired to keep brushing my teeth – I'm so tired. But of course we have to go out. We always do. I hear you come to the door of the bathroom and I can feel you smile as you stand behind me. Soft lips set a kiss on the back of my neck.
I don’t open my eyes just smile. I put the toothbrush down and spit in the sink- rinsing with water as you place your hand on my shoulder. I stand up again and close my eyes- just a little energy please?
You slide your arms around my ribs and rest your chin on my shoulder. I feel your warm breath on my neck and I finally open my eyes. You grin and hold a little tighter as I smile back. I close my eyes again and lean my head over on yours as you whisper, “You’re tired.”
I begin to reply but am cut short by a kiss on the side of my neck. My answer comes out more as a quiet moan. You move closer still. Another kiss on my neck. And another. It’s comfy in your arms and your kisses are rejuvenating my senses.
Another kiss but this time with a flick of a tongue. I roll my head to the other side as you kiss my warm skin. I smile and laugh as I feel that at least part of my body is awake.
You trail warm hands down my stomach and begin to tug at my belt. You kiss my neck again and slip the leather out of the metal buckle. I moan as the strap is pulled out of my belt loops, “They’re waiting for us.”
You smile into my shoulder and reach down once more. This time into my pocket dragging the cell phone out. Your hand brushing close to my body- purposely.
Half listening to the conversation- easily distracted by your fingertips tracing patterns above my waistband.
“Benj, we’re tired. Go on with the others. We’ll stay here.” You say into the phone. ~-~-~-~
