3 Come

“Come this way,” the little man squeaked as he continues to shuffle down the hall.

Joel looked over at Benji. He was trembling and had a frightened look on his face. Joel cleared his throat and tried to give a reassuring smile. Benji just shook his head and Joel nodded, understanding he was scared and confirming his own fear.

The little man turned around about 15 feet in front of them, “Come,” he motioned with his long body finger and a smirk on his pallor face.

As the man turned back around, Joel took a step forward. When Benji didn’t move, Joel turned around. He looked in the eyes of his fearful twin, his mirrored. He reached down and took Benji’s hand. This small gesture calmed Benji slightly enough to where his shaking stopped. Benji squeezed Joel’s hand and they followed the man.

The slowly walked down the lengthy corridor. As the man finally stopped he set his hand on the aged metal doorknob. He turned the handle with a creak.

As the door was opened nothing more than three inches it suddenly flew open.
