~*~ Back In Your Own Backyard ~*~

This is our Muffin. Actually her registered name was
LeBleu Beri Muffin. She was born in April, 1997 and
laid to rest Feb. 2002. She would have been five years
old this April.

Her disease was very rare. The formal diagnosis is
progressive motor neuron degeneration, and mega
esophagus, which is similar to Lou Gehrig's disease.

When Muffin got to the point that she had to be carried
and couldn't stand to potty, I was at the end of my
ropes. Then like a gift from above, my sister (Doris) saw
Doctor Craig Prior (from The Murphy Road Animal
Hospital) on a local TV show. She said I should take
Muffin there, which I did.

Doctor Leighton Bell became Muffins doctor and right
away he started calling colleges giving her symptoms.
He found someone that said to try her on a medication
that is all natural and it gave her about three months
of quality life. He fought hard and long to save Muffin,
so I wish to express my gratitude to Doctor Bell and
the entire staff of "The Murphy Road Animal Hospital"
here in Nashville. Also to my son (Rick) who took such
good care of her.

It broke our hearts to see her struggle so, but she is at
peace now in her backyard under her favorite tree
where she would run to when I let her out the door.
She loved to see the squirrels scamper up that tree!

We sure do miss you Muffin

I am dedicating this site in memory of my Muffin,
whom I had to bless to the barking tree in heaven. She
has been a blessing in my life. I miss her terribly. You
can see how gorgeous she was in the photo above.

The birds with feathers of blue,
will be singing their songs for you
At home in your own backyard
The squirrels in the trees
are happy to see,
you home in your own backyard

The sun in the east,
moon in the west will shine on you
The seasons of love go drifting by
for you to view
You'll feel your happiness rise
clear up to the skies
At home in your own backyard

Wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge, Muffin...

"The Rainbow Bridge"

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its
many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow
Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and
valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this
place. There is always food and water and warm
Spring weather. The old frail animals are young
again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing, they are not
with their special person who loved them so much
on Earth so, each day they run and play until the
day comes when one suddenly stops playing and
looks up! The nose twitches! The ears rise up!
The eyes are staring!

Then suddenly, this one runs from the group! You
have been seen, and when you and your special
friend meet, you take him or her into your arms
and you both embrace. Your face is licked again
and again and you look once more into the eyes
of your trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow
Bridge together, never again to be separated.
