| King 3B Silversonic- This
in my main horn. I play it in wind ensemble, jazz band, St. Paul
Praise Band, and any other non-potentially dangerous situations.
|
| "Rustic" Yamaha
YSL-354- A really bad horn. I play this in marching band, pep band and
any other potentially harmful situations. I have spitefully dubbed it
the "Cornu Merdae", Latin for "Crap Horn".
|
| Antique (1880-1900, by my
unreliable estimate) V.F. Cerveny valve trombone- This is a really nifty
horn. It has four valves, and what I call a partially concial design.
It is more concial than a standard trombone, but less concial than other
brass instruments like French horns and trumpets. The manufacturer is
based in the now Czech Republic, then Czechoslovakia. They built
the first successful BB-flat tuba, and are still known for making great
valved instruments to this day.
|
| Recorders- I play descant
and tenor recorder, mostly in Praise Band. I want to find a bass and
possibly a contrabass recorder, and have ambitions of arranging "Jesu,
Joy of Mans Desiring" by J.S. Bach for a recorder ensemble (probably
either a quartet or quintet).
|
| Late 60's Conn Director
trumpet- I don't play it in any sort of band, nor do I play it very
well. I simply play it for my own amusement.
|
| Baritone- I play baritone
every now and then. I double on it in pep band often enough. I
don't own a baritone, but am looking for a cheep one.
|
| Bass Trombone- I played a
beautiful Conn 88-H
|
| Now for the
instruments I want to play:
|
| The Conn 88H-CL- This is
only the greatest trombone ever made. It is a large bore symphony
trombone with the patented CL-2000 rotor. It was designed by Christian
Lindberg's father-in-law from a set of specifications written by the great
Lindberg himself. I thought I would get it before the beginning of the
school year, but my mom keeps putting it off, and now seems like she doesn't
want to deal with it until after Christmas, but I hope it will happen sooner
than that.
|
| Bassoon- I'm not sure
what possesses me to want to learn bassoon, but I think it would be cool.
|
| French horn- I think it
would be a nice challenge to learn French horn.
