as the kangaroo bounds away and then back to the security of the pouch, the
older toddler is eager to explore alone, then rushes back for reassurance.
With engaging musical activities including instrument exploration, creative
movement, listening and Music & Movement Story time, each our time
curriculum focuses on the child’s healthy emotional development and
recognizes his need for both independence and support. This
semester, the unit theme will be “Wiggles and Giggles.” This unit features
songs, activities and literature books surrounding the ever-exciting themes
of taking a bath, animal movements, and love for family and friends. The

Children 4-5 years old Kindermusik for the Young
Child
There
are a total of four semesters in this curriculum. Semester 1 broadens the
child’s musical experience through the introduction of the glockenspiel.
Learning how to keep a steady beat plus reading and writing musical notations
will help a child lay the initial groundwork for musical success! Like all
Kindermusik curricula, Kindermusik for the Young Child is designed to provide
age-appropriate musical experiences that lead the child toward a lifetime of
joyful music making. It is meant to be a bridge between the musical play of
early childhood and a more formally structured musical experience, such as
individual lessons with a particular instrument, or participation in a choir.
The class fee includes a collection of materials to take home including:
Children’s folder, Games bag, Family Song book, Home CD, and Glockenspiel.* Dates:
There will be 15 classes, each 60 minutes in length. Parents are invited to
join in for the final 15 minutes of each class. Time:

portion of the materials listed. Those materials that are not necessary to

At
this time, individual instruction is offered to children who are at least 5
years old or have learned the alphabet. I also welcome beginning or returning
adult students! For younger children, please consider Kindermusik
offerings. All instruction is classically based, with popular, sacred, and
other repertoire introduced as soon as possible, according to the interests
of the student Guitar
During
private guitar lessons for the beginning to early intermediate student,
students will learn to read music, play melodies and accompaniment for
familiar songs, and gain an understanding of basic musical theory.
Instruction is classically based with an emphasis on proper technique. As
soon as possible, repertoire that suits the individual student’s interests
will be introduced. Each student must have an acoustic guitar. It is
recommended that for younger children you inquire as to whether a full size
guitar or a ½ to ¾ scale guitar would be more appropriate when you purchase
your instrument, Dates:

student based on age, personality, and previous musical experience. As soon as possible, repertoire that suits
the individual student’s interests will be introduced. Each student must have
