A story about 3 children growing up told by Katie: Alison and I were raised in Sherwood,ND tell we were around 15yrs. old, and Brandon was only 13 when we moved to Iowa. While growing up in ND, it was hell for Alison and I, having to deal with being outcast by our color in kindergarten, being tossed around by freshmen in highschool, and dealing with stuckup girls who live to make your life a living hell. But Brandon didn't have it bad at all..things went fine for him, but still, he was somewhat unhappy i feel. Our Mom had just about enough of the town too, so she found a job in Carroll, IA. Allie, Brandon and I were excited..new adventure..we have never lived in a CITY, why Sherwood had a population of 102 people and dying out fast. Allie and I were Sophmores by then, and brandon 8th grader. The first 2 weeks were the MOST amazing days Allie and I have ever had..but for my Brother Brandon and our Dad, it wasn't so great. Brandon just didn't feel like he was home, and my Dad didn't either, he wanted to farm his land. So before the end of the year they moved back to ND to live there, and mom decided to stay with us. Allie and I had a wonderful time, though we were missing part of our family, it was something our mom had to do for us 3 girls happiness. In Sherwood I felt as though i was such an outcast...i couldn't say anything to anyone without being told to shutup. But in Carroll, only 2 months after being in school, during Science class the Captain of the football team asked me to the Homecoming dance..but i said no. I though he was joking, but i gess not...who would have known, but his brother who i would meet the next year, would turn out to be my best friend and like a 3rd Brother to me! Brandon had picked up Skateboarding during that summer of 2000, and he loved it. He was doing great ..and he found some great friends in ND - his skate partner Chad Heller, who i remember use to not think much of Brandon at all..even when i mentioned his name. NEXT came our Junior Year! Allie and I had gotten into the band, but like the year before, we both knew we were AWFUL! But luckly we had a Teacher with his Masters Degree and soon to be Ph.D. He asked us if we wanted to try out for All-state? We had no clue what that was! and after he explained the audition repetoire, we were like "no way." But he said that if he could teach us all our scales and etudes/solo, we could make it in, only if we practiced hard! So allie and I practiced, but not AS much as we should of had...we weren't taking it as serious as we should have. .......UNDER CONSTRUCTION!
