About Me

I, Kelly Alanna Coleman Morgan, was born 22 years ago in Birmingham, Alabama. I attended Pinson Elementary School. In first grade, I visited the home of a friend and heard her mother play the flute. The sound of the flute was beautiful! I knew from that day forward that one of my goals in life would be to learn how to play the flute. At Rudd Junior High School, I began playing the flute. My band director encouraged me to continue my flute studies. In May 1995, I auditioned for the Alabama School of Fine Arts and was accepted. I attended ASFA where I performed with the Chamber Players and many other chamber groups for a variety of civic and business occasions (governors of several states, international business executives, Civitan International, Southern Company, and Time Warner). In June of 1998, I won the Ann Adams Memorial Scholarship and was a solo performer at the City Stages Music Festival in Birmingham, Alabama. A year later I was selected to participate in a fellowship with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. I performed three times with the Summer Music Institute Orchestra and Chamber Group at the Kennedy Center. I graduated in 2002 from Ithaca College (Ithaca, NY) with a major in Music Education (Flute) and a minor in Writing.

Last summer I became married to Todd M. Morgan, who is from Long Island, New York. Todd and I met in band while attending Ithaca College. We were married on the beaches of Seaside, FL in front of One Seagrove Place. Initally we invited 30 guests, but 300 showed up (viewing the wedding from their condo balconies!) :)

I can't conclude an "about me" page without mentioning Biscuit, my golden retriever, who has been a wonderful friend and companion for the last few years!
