Backwoods Drifter is a Rock/Blues/Jam Band from Central Ohio. We consist of a Lead Guitarist, Rhythm Guitarist, and a drummer/percussionist. We've written a few of our own songs, but mostly do alot of covers for now. We play around central Ohio, and east of Columbus around Buckeye Lake, Newark, St. Louisville, and Thornville. Our drummer is Joe Linn. He's been drumming for 17 years since high school. His main influences are hard rock. Our rhythm guitarist is Aaron Morgan. He's been playing guitar for over 8 years. He's mostly played rhythm. His influences are Bob Dylan, Bob Weir, Neil Young, Stephen Stills, etc. He also sings the majority of the songs, and writes the outlines for the setlists that we play. Aaron plays a left-handed Fender Strat, and a left-handed acoustic. Our lead guitarist is Michael Hill from Pataskala, Ohio. He's been playing guitar for about 7 years. He started out on rhythm but changed over to lead when he and Aaron Morgan started playing together. His main influences are Jerry Garcia, Alvin Lee, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, etc. He plays a Peavey Raptor guitar, and sometimes uses different tunings to play blues with a metal or glass slide.
