DICK COZART VIOLIN MAKER

Dick Cozart was a master luither for 40 years. Retired in Jan. 2003, now lives in Paris. Dick resided in Texas for most of his 40 year profession. He has made his violin for many concert violinist and many for western swing and bluegrass players a like. Dick used the best woods available for his violins. Most of the woods were from 50 to 100 years aged and certified. He now tells his secret of success. Dick would mill the top of the violin until he got a good tone when he would thump it. If the sound was in the key of A, he would then hone the back until he got the key of A tone out of it. Now with the top and bottom in the key of A the violin would not be fighting against itself. Dick says it is a simple theory but it works. If you ever get a chance to buy a violin made by Mr. Cozart, do so. You will not regret it.

DICK IS A GREAT VIOLINIST AND ONE OF THE BEST MAKERS THAT EVER LIVED.
