Take a Brownie

Based on "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" (1968)
New lyrics written Thursday, December 4, 2003 @ 11:37 p.m.

Desmond buys a brownie from the market place,
takes it home to put in Molly's hand.
Molly looks at Desmond with a puzzled face,
and starts to talk when Desmond raises up his hand.

"Have a brownie for free. I just can't believe
how the brownies last this long.
Have a brownie for free. I just can't believe
how the brownies last this long."

Desmond hops aboard the cable internet,
looking for some brownie recipes.
Prints them out while asking Molly please to get
the oven ready to the temperature it needs.

Have a brownie for free...
...last this long.

In a couple of years,
they've got brownies sold from home.
With a couple of bids and some business cards,
they're makin' it on their own.

No more hitchin' rides to hit the market place,
brownies pay the bills to keep their land.
Molly stays at home to watch the stock exchange
to justify the reason they had to expand.

Have a brownie for free...
...last this long.

In a couple of years...
...makin' it on their own.

Cornered every market in the brownie race;
Molly's got a diamond on her hand.
Desmond runs the racket leaving not a trace
of any crumbs behind to fumble up his plan.

Have a brownie for free...
...last this long.
And if you just say, "Please,"
here, have a brownie free.
