She Looked In Through the Oven Window

Based on "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" (1969)
New lyrics written Sunday, March 9, 2003 @ 9:19 a.m.

She looked in through the oven window,
protected by an iron door.
But now she stares at it and wonders
what the hell she's been waiting for.

Didn't anybody show her
how a timer surely works?
Sunday's effort went 'til Monday,
Tuesday, she had gone berserk.

She said she'd always been the smart one,
she'd done so very well in school.
And though I knew, I couldn't tell her,
so I tried just to play it cool.

And so I got from my glove compartment,
a little dinger-bell with a knob.
And though I tried my best to help her,
I had doubts she could do the job.

Didn't anybody show her,
how a timer surely works?
Sunday's brownies cooked 'til Monday,
Tuesday morning, all were burnt,
oh yeah!
