The Brownies I've Gotta Go For
Based on "The Ballad of John and Yoko" (1969)

Standing in the door of the bakery,
When you're hungry, you always
Finally made a choice at the counter
When you're hungry...
The brownies that they have at the Hilton,
When you're hungry...
Saving up my change I gather through the day,
Made another trip to the bakery,
When you're hungry...
Caught an early plane for vacation.
When you're hungry...
never had I seen such a place.
A man all in white
said, "Can I help you find..."
I guess I had that look on my face.
want more than you can store.
But this particular morning,
a brownie's all I'm there for.
narrowing it down to a few.
The man said to take
my time; it's okay.
Just call him over when I am through.
...I'm there for.
never seem to be up to par.
But what you must pay
for even a stay,
you'd think that they'd be better by far.
...I'm there for.
passing all the cans for charity.
I'll soon be able
to fill my table
with every single brownie but with no...
drink!
putting brownies all in a bag.
The papers had said
that brownies in bed
put crumbs and make it feel like a drag.
...I'm there for.
God, I hope the flight isn't long.
A snack isn't much
with crackers and such.
I guess the brownies never caught on.
...I'm there for.
But this particular morning,
a brownie's what I long for.
