Chapter Two

The ride back to A.J. and Kevin’s place was relatively quiet. There wasn’t too much to talk about after these parties except what people were wearing and they had already gotten tired of that. By the time that the limo got there it wasn’t that late but it was getting chilly so they went inside to sit down

*About 20 minutes later*

As Joey turned on the radio, the sounds of Montell Jordan’s “Get it on tonight” filled the living room. Anna gasped and her eyes lit up. “I love this song!” Hearing her remark, A.J. danced over to her seat on the couch and grabbed her hand. He pulled her close to him placing his hand on her lower back and moving to the rhythm.

Trina laughed and looked over at Nick. He was watching them closely with fire in his eyes. “Like they didn’t get enough dancing at the party tonight” Trina rolled her eyes and then laughed at them again. “Yea…” Nick added, smiling flakily “Like they didn’t get enough of each other tonight.”

Sara got up pulling Howie with her with the other couples following behind her, as Nick looked around the people who were in the way.

After dancing for a few more songs they all decided that it was getting late and they all left to go home.

*At Nick and Anna’s house*
“Baby what’s wrong?” Anna asked Nick draping her arms around his neck. “Nothing” he mumbled before he shrugged her off. “Nick please, you’ve been acting this way since the party… and I don’t like it.” She pleaded with him. “Well, maybe that’s because you’ve been all over A.J since we left the party. You’ve been spending a lot of time with him lately and you seem to be enjoying it.” He tossed the facts at her like a softball. He walked to their bedroom to change clothes. Anna picked up the bottom of her dress and followed him. When she reached the door she yanked down the zipper on the side. “Nick, A.J. and I are just friends. You Know that. It’s just like you and Rachel.” She walked over to the closed and pulled out some of the clothes that she had designed and laid them on the bed for them and walked over to the bathroom.

Nick looked at the clothes that she laid out on the bed for him. “Do you pick out A.J.’s clothes for him too, Miss. Clothes designer? Is that why he always looks so scrubby?” Anna emerged from the bathroom pulling her shirt down and straightening her wind pants out. “That was low, Nick.” She stated. “Well, babe, that’s the truth.” He replied. Anna glared at him as she turned to go and put her sneakers on her feet. Glancing at him one last time, she grabbed the keys to her Jeep and walked out the door. She felt the first rain drops of a storm as they landed on her face.

Nick stood at the window and watched he drive down the road when she was out of site he changed out of his suit and into something a little bit more comfortable and sat down with the phone. Dialing Brian’s phone number, he sat and waited.
