CHAPTER 25

Sam drew near Nick : his face was wet by tears falling from his handsome blue eyes. It was terrible knowing she was the reason of so much sadness! But why that beautiful boy wasn't able to understand which was the real motivation that forced her acting like that ? Her hand caressed his cheek and at seeing his eyes opening Sam felt attracted like a magnet toward his lips. She couldn't resist : her body refused to lose that wonderful feeling. She felt the heat of his hand on her neck and a shiver crossed her back. The contact between them couldn't being broken anymore.

Instinctively she put her hand on his chest : it was hairless and smooth and she felt the urge of kissing it... and licking it ... and then down on his belly

Nick couldn't be calm ! What was happening ? Was this the same girl who had told him that she had kissed him for mistake? And what was this now ? Another mistake? He tried to think but his mind wasn't doing that : he wanted enjoying all those feelings.

Nick couldn't believe that was really happening : he was in a hospital room , paralyzed, and he was doing sex with his physiotherapist ! She looked satisfied at him but now she saw the sick kid of the days before . She took the towel and cleaned him again. Then picked up the sheet and covered him

Nick observed Sam going out and he felt alive for the first time after the accident

CHAPTER 26

Howie had told him that the night before Nick was in tears so at nine o'clock AJ was in front of his little brother's room.

-- Morning -- AJ

-- in -- Nick

AJ noticed immediately that there was something different that morning: the curtains were completely opened and the sun was shining in the room . Nick was sitting on the bed, holding a bottle of water, drinking with a straw

-- Are you drinking? -- AJ

-- Yes they took away that horrendous pipe from my mouth and the IV ! Don't I look a bit normal now? -- Nick

-- Oh my God!!! -- AJ

AJ was mad for the joy : Nick was free ... he was recovering finally . He almost jumped on Nick spilling the water on him.

-- Shit , Bone, look at here!!! They have already given me a bath this morning! -- Nick

-- Sorry, it's that I ... I'm so happy -- AJ

AJ hugged Nick again and this time he wasn't able to hold back the tears

-- Alex, control yourself -- Nick

Nick felt to die

-- It's ok... no , please, don't make that mortified expression, I've seen that too much often in the last times! Please, Nick, I'm so happy! -- AJ

Once more that feeling of guilt: for his mistake now his friends had to pay attention what they said.

Nick smiled and hugged AJ

AJ returned from the bathroom with a towel and began drying Nick's chest. Sure it wasn't the body that he knew but livids were becoming clearer and maybe eating that terrible pallor would have gone away

The door opened but didn't appear the perfect body and the long blonde hair of Sam but a really big lady with two big lips... seemed Mammy from " Gone with the wind."

-- Good morning, I see you were waiting me -- Beth

-- Sorry, but who are you ? -- Nick

-- I'm your physiotherapist. You can call me Beth -- Beth

Where was Sam?

-- Physiotherapist ? -- Nick

-- Yes. Didn't you know that today you have physiotherapy? -- Beth

Sure he knew it but not with Mami-Beth... with Sam!

Beth tickle him in his tummy and Nick began to laugh. The 2 hours of physiotherapy went in a hurry : Mammy-Beth was so nice that made him feeling so protected.

CHAPTER 28

Nick slowly opened the envelope and began to read

""Dear Nick you will be asking what has happened and I am asking it too. I have thought all night long about it and now I know that what I have done last night was the biggest mistake I have ever done in my life .

I know I have no right in asking you this but I hope you will give me a second chance when you'll be better.

-- Nickolas, it's time for your medicines. Here this is the water and these are the tablets : the two for maintain the paralysis and the two for the pain. Nickolas? -- N.Ally

Nick was staring the letter.

-- Yes, I'll take them in an instant -- Nick

-- Can you do it by yourself ? Do you have problems to swallow before ? -- N.Ally

-- No,no problem, I'll take them in a second -- Nick

-- Ok, do you need something? -- N.Ally

-- Only some privacy if it's possible in this place -- Nick

Nick's mood had completely changed and Ally decided to leave him alone

-- Yes -- Nick

Ally went out and Nick began to beat his fists on the bed. He was too angry to cry !

Sam... how did that woman come in his life ? Why Sam and not Mamy from the beginning ? Why he was immobilized in a bed? Why did AJ lost the white line? How much questions without not even a torn of answer. The only thing he knew for sure was that Sam had left him because he was paralyzed! Only for that!
The others were telling that it didn't matter, that nothing had changed, that was a temporary thing, that was for his safe but the truth was that he had no life reduced like this !
He shrank Sam's letter and threw it away; then grabbed one of the pillows and threw it on the floor and then a pencil and all the stuff that was on the night-table except the tablets. He had moved so much the arms that his back was hurting, so he swallow the two for the pain with the water. Then he grabbed those for maintain the paralysis: he put them in his mouth but ... wait ... they were the reason of everything ! Up to the first day they injected that stuff through the IV but now he has to swallow it. He spat the tablets on his hand. But was this paralysis quite necessary ? Was quite necessary destroy his life in this way ? He was too angry for thinking and also the tablets for the pain were stunning him. He decided to sleep a bit and then think about the tablets.
He pushed the button to call Ally

-- Tell me Nickolas -- N.Ally

-- Could you make some dark, I'd like to sleep a little bit -- Nick

Drawing near the window Ally stumbled in all the stuff that were on the floor

-- What has happened? -- N.Ally

-- I have made a disaster -- Nick

-- While were you taking the tablets from the night-table ? -- N.Ally

-- Yes -- Nick

-- But have you been able to take the tablets? -- N.Ally

Nick nodded tightening the two pills in his hand.
Ally closed the curtains and turned on the light on Nick's bed

-- Do you want to lay down ? -- N.Ally

-- No I'm fine. Thanks -- Nick.

-- Fine. Take a good rest -- N.Ally

She went out. Now the tablets were melting in his hand. He looked for a place to put them. On his legs was still laying the envelope of Sam's letter . He put the tablets inside and the envelope in the drawer of the night-table. He would have thought about it after his rest.
