My daddy brought home the ABC album Y’all Come Back Saloon in 1977 & the rest is history. I was hooked on the Oak Ridge Boys! I may have only been 5 years old, going on 6, but I knew a good thing when I heard it. I now own everything the boys have recorded, since 1st crossing over from gospel to country in 1977, as well as some of their earlier gospel work.

Dad would take me to see the boys every time they would pass through these parts, up until he passed away in October of 1982. The songs “Dream On” (a father watching over his daughter as she falls asleep–from The Oak Ridge Boys Have Arrived, 1977) & “I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes” (“Oh you’re always in my heart & your often on my mind. I will never let it die, just as long as I’m alive. Sometimes it makes me sad, that we never said goodbye. Well, I guess it never hurts to hurt sometimes.”–from Deliver, 1983) have always been special to me. Also, daddy would sing “Freckles” (from Y’all Come Back Saloon, 1977) to me... I’m blessed, like he was, with a ton of freckles.

So, as you can see, the music of the Oak Ridge Boys is very close to my heart (all of it, though I've mentioned a few favorites). It'd be more truthful to say it was, actually, a part of my heart.

In my opinion, there’s no one out there like them & there never will be. They have their own unique & powerful sound. Plus there’s this magic spark that emanates from them, their chemistry as a unit, that just blows me away. It truly fills my heart with joy seeing/hearing them perform live.

I’ve attended different concerts of theirs, over the years. But only recently have I been able to capture some decent pictures. Here, in this album, I would like to share some of my favorites with you.

Thanks for visiting & enjoy.
Take care & God bless…
~ Roxanne
