Pittsburgh PA to Quakertown PA

Today's Driving Distance: 300 Miles - Driving Time: 5 Hours

Total Driving Distance [so far]: 4150 Miles - Driving Time: 67 Hours

Another early morning as we had plans for breakfast before I reluctantly moved on. Once again Noah took me to a place that had great food. Pamela's Diner had great pancakes and there was a line out the door to get in as we left. While driving around with Noah, I got a nice glimpse of Pittsburgh, a lot more than I saw [or wanted to see] of the other big cities I'd driven through. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated my friend.

Today the sun was shining and it was no longer freezing, which was good news. Although I didn't really know it's exact location beforehand, I happened across the exit to the Flight 93 National Memorial. It was something I had wanted to see on the way if possible. I followed the signs to the main entrance, then turned off my stereo and kinda got lost in the moment for about 45 minutes. I didn't know what to expect or how many people would be there. It was a fitting Sunday morning as I reflected on the events of September 11th, 2001.

A new visitor center is being built up on the hill along Flight 93's flight path. Currently everything is mainly outside. There were about 50 people around when I got there. Two buses with about 120 students from Washington DC showed up as I was leaving.

Since it was Sunday I listened to some of my Christian Hard Rock. Bands like Bloodgood, Barren Cross, Guardian, Deliverance. Good stuff with a positive message. The drive to Quakertown was uneventful and I got there around 5 pm. That was my last long drive for now.

I missed my nephew's 30th birthday party today back home. Most of my immediate family was there. My wife called me from the party and let me talk to my Granddaughter Adalyn. I've only been gone two weeks and she already sounded older than last time I saw her. I will see her in 5 weeks and I told her I would give her a big hug then.

Then of course today was Walking Dead Sunday. I had watched the last two episodes at Kerry's and then Diane's, not knowing they were big fans also. As soon as I got to my room I checked the TV channels and they had no AMC! Diane texted me and reminded me that you can watch on AMC.com if you sign in through your cable provider. I did just that and watched the awesome 90 minute season finale as well as Talking Dead afterward. No more Walking Dead until October, what a treat for after the season.

On to Day 18
