SOUTH COLONIE FRIENDS OF MUSIC

(SCFOM)

The organization was formed in 1974 with the purpose
of supporting and enhancing the music program of the

South Colonie Central School District

by providing enrichment opportunities, supporting the music program,
and promoting an awareness and appreciation of the musical arts
throughout the community.

  • In attempting to fulfill these objectives:

  • SCFOM each year provides an award to two or more graduating seniors
    who have been active in the CCHS music program;

  • presents a Harvard Dictionary of Music to each senior
    who is entering a field of music at the college level;

  • provides after concert receptions for special concerts and activities
    as well as for the annual faculty recital;

  • sponsors the SCFOM Dance Band and Alumni Concert.



  • Persons interested in membership may become members in good standing
    upon submission of an application for membership and a donation.

    • The levels of donor membership are:

  • Student
  • Friend
  • Sponsor
  • Contributor
  • Benefactor
  • Grand Benefactor
  • (Others as determined by the Board of Directors.)

    Meetings of the Board of Directors are normally held each month on Wednesday
    at Colonie Central High School in the Chorus Room.

    Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and usually last an hour.

    General Membership Meetings are held in October, March and June.

    to assist us in reaching our objectives!
