The Beginnings to 1920s
WKAR
WKAR Broadcasting started at what was then Michigan Agricultural
College in 1918 when ingenious students rigged up World War I wireless
sets. They transmitted songs between dorms and sent personal messages
and announcements to other amateur radio operators. WKAR, the state's
first educational radio station, began official broadcasts in 1922 with
weather, market information and music. Then the station expanded to radio
courses for farmers including Farm Radio School.

These modules are perfect for applications where
small amounts of charging power are needed. They can easily be competitive
with utility power in locations where the cost of installing a power
line and meter makes utility power impractical. They are widely used
in low power communications, telemetry and farm and construction equipment
battery maintenace. They are made like the larger modules, with aluminum
frames and junction boxes. We have chosen modules from the manufacturer
with the best price for each size module.

Kenwood's Sirius-ready receiver tunes in both local radio and satellite
channels.
For five days last week, I was living dangerously.
Each weekday morning and evening, I drove on Louisville's interstate
highways without first listening to traffic reports on a local radio
station.

Energy company PG&E (PCG: news, chart, profile) is expected to
show earnings of 75 cents a share by a consensus of analysts polled by
Thomson Financial/First Call. After the bell Friday, PG&E reported
that a trading unit had made "round-trip" energy trades during the California
energy crisis that might have been deceptive. Round-trip trades are between
two counter parties, buying and selling at the same price on the same day.
They can be used to inflate trading volumes.

AUGUST 2 | In a scene somewhat reminiscent of the DVD format's tumultuous
adoption by content providers in the mid-'90s, top executives at the

fast food chains
Attorney: Fatty fare contributed
to man’s health problems
MSNBC STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS
NEW YORK, July 26 — A 5-foot-10-inch, 272-pound man has sued
four major fast food chains, claiming their fare contributed to his obesity,
heart disease and diabetes, his attorney said Friday. The lawsuit, which
estimates that millions of Americans could be included in the claim, also
seeks to have the companies label individual products with fat, salt, cholesterol
and other dietary content as well as to warn consumers of potential health
consequences.
