[Contrary to the above statement "Digital Goddess", it's juz an emblem I found nice, and in no way am I insinuating I am one. I am not God.]

Message Of The Month [APRIL] :

Blame is contagious. Self righteousness spurns excuse and self justification which leads to blaming others for deeds that you know are your own and of your own fault.

Don't Bother Trynna be Cool

Far too often, it's much more convenient for us to point fingers of blame in other people's direction, and not take responsibility for our own actions.  I've done that, and I ain't proud of it, so this is my message for April - May.

Social Psychology classes further opened up my opinion. The Littleton Colorado high school massacre shook not just the nation of America but countries beyond.  Why did Columbine High School have to go through such torture?

Questions were asked. Conclusions were formed.  But most sadly of all, blame was dished.  From bad programs on television to lack of supervision from parents to the culprits who did it.  Blame was thrown in every possible direction, but have anyone given thought to the fact that the kids involved in the killings were victims of torture in school themselves, sussed up by kids, teased and ostracized because they were deemed as "uncool", a statement sadly placed by society as a benchmark that gets you in to the coolest parties in town and the cliques that seemingly take you places?

Then musicians were blamed. Look at Eminem.  Look at Manson. No, I'm not defending Manson blindly.  More often than not I've already heard people come up to tell me, "You're supposed to be a good Christian girl, don't defend Manson.  It's useless.  He's condemned."

Well then tell me one thing.  What caused him to be this way? Go read his biography.  Lies churned? It's up to your conscience to decide.  But don't you notice that tragic pattern occurring in places worldwide? Lonely child gets outcasted by friends in school, made use of as doormat, grows up harbouring hate, anger feeds, heart hardens, the works.

Who do we blame but ourselves for being slaves to this world's values?  They see "cool" as sleeping around, having a good time, slamming your parents when they're concerned, and being able to walk away from home without so much as batting an eyelid.

And who are we to condemn others when we're not God? Even God has mercy, has Grace. Are we claiming somehow, through our self-righteous actions, that we're greater than God?

Impossible.

I guess it's time for us all to wake up and look at the people around us. Those that wear smiles on the outside but are hurting within, those who seem to have permanently sad eyes.

Ask ourselves why. And how we can be their friend.

Don't ostracize them for something they can't help or need help with.

That's just not cool.
