This was taken January 16,2002 at the Ryman. Im smiling that big because I had been outside in the cold for TWELVE HOURS (NO JOKE and NO exaggeration) waiting to meet her! When she had arrived, her hands were full, Emorys hands were full and she was late. She stopped for a second but I felt so bad for keeping her, so she went inside. She sent Deanie outside a few hours later to let me know she was doing a soundcheck and would come out after that. They got REALLY tied up doing stuff (it was for a tv taping) and she didnt get to come out until she and Em were going home. She came out and gave me the biggest hug "for hanging in there". I was MORE than thrilled to see her. LOL I was also thrilled to leave and go to a warmer climate after that;)
This was taken May 17, 2002 at City Stages in Birmingham, AL. I got there about 8 hours early and it started to rain and thunderstorm. I sat out in the rain and didnt really care- but once it started to get a lot worse and we got tornado warnings, they sent us away to get shelter. We came back to our drenched seats, and then it started back up again, and we were sent to shelter again. I was beginning to get worried that she was not going to do the show. Finally, we sat down, and Patty came on stage not long after! As I was leaving after her show, I noticed that the backstage gate was open...so I walked back. I went over by her bus, and a lady that was the professional photographer for City Stages came up and asked me if I'd like my photo taken with Patty. Naturally, I jumped at the chance!
