"If you're a country music lover, Nashville is the place," says country singer Patty Loveless, who thinks the holidays are the best time to get in on the action.
Where to find the beat "Head to Broadway and Second Avenue. You can walk by the bars and restaurants and hear jazz, blues and rock n roll ringing through the doors."
Opry Bound "There's always music at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday and Saturday nights. In the winter it's the main thing happening- but it's sometimes hard to get tickets, so call ahead."
After the Shows "F. Scott's restaurant and Jazz Bar in Green Hills is one of my favorite restaurants. It's very elegant, with sophisticated food, but you dont have to dress up. To the side of the restaurant is a small bar where there's live jazz every night."
For something different "I love ethnic foods. Koto Sushi Bar, downtown at Seventh and Commerce, is a great sushi bar where you'll see a lot of artists and writers. And I love the East India Club in Brentwood- I can't get enough lamb vindaloo."
Best place for a Sunday afternoon"Radnor Lake is not too far from the city , and you can go hiking and see deer, owls and other wildlife. Afterwards, I'll go to Illusions Salon and Day Spa. They have treatments for every part of your body!"
Souvenirs "The Ernest Tubb Record shop can order music you didn't think even exsisted anymore! And I love Zelda, in the Belle Meade Galleria. For vintage clothing, that's the place to go."
