Afuche/Cabasa
This instrument is found in Latin music a lot, but is sometimes found in Western writing as well. Strings of metal beads are wrapped around a ridged metal surface. To play, you hold the handle in one hand, place the instrument in the palm of your other hand, and rub it back and forth. This creates a metallic rasping noise which is very percussive. |
