                   Karen Bell                    

 

A native of Virginia, Ms. Bell attended Fort Defiance High School and James Madison University, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and received her Bachelor of Music degree in 1999. She student taught band and strings at the middle school and high school levels during 2000.

During the 2000-2001 school year, she was one of three music teachers at Edward G. Clymore Elementary School in Augusta County, where she was raised. During that time she was on staff at her high alma mater, Fort Defiance, where she assisted the marching band and color guard during the marching season. She also taught clarinet lessons, taught sectionals for the woodwind section, and led the FDHS Clarinet Choir.

In high school, Ms. Bell was fortunate to be a 2 year member of the All-Virginia Band, and in 1994 was a member of the National Band Association’s National Honors Band.

Ms. Bell’s college experience includes the JMU Marching Royal Dukes, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Clarinet Choir, and Woodwind Quintet.

MENC- Music Educator’s National Conference

CMEA- California Music Educator’s Association

ICA- International Clarinet Association
