Michael kicks off his first ever solo Tour, in Yokohama, Japan. He is dubbed "Typhoon Michael" by the Japanese.
During one of the Japanese concerts, Michael dedicates "I just Can't Stop Loving You" to the memory of Yoshiaki Ogiwara, a 5 year old boy who was kidnapped and horrifically murdered. He also donates $20,000 to the child's family. He closes the Japanese leg of the world tour by donating 30 personal items to the UNESCO for a charity auction to raise funds for education in developing countries.
